CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 16, FIRST PERIOD) ORDER 1935.

CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 16, FIRST PERIOD) ORDER 1935.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that whenever the Executive Council makes a quota order, the Executive Council shall, by order made during the preliminary period in respect of such quota order and as soon as may be after the making of such quota order—

(a) appoint a period (beginning on the day appointed by such quota order for the commencement of the first quota period thereunder) to be the first quota period under such quota order, and

(b) appoint a specified quantity of goods to which such quota order applies to be the quota for the purposes of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), in respect of the said first quota period :

AND WHEREAS on the 22nd day of March, 1935, the Executive Council made the Control of Imports (Quota No. 16) Order, 1935, and by the said Order appointed the 1st day of May, 1935, to be the day on which the first quota period under the said Order should commence :

NOW, the Executive Council in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 16, First Period) Order, 1935.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The period beginning on the 1st day of May, 1935, and ending on the 31st day of October, 1935, is hereby appointed to be the first quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 16) Order, 1935 (which relates to certain artificial manures).

4. Seven thousand tons of the articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 16) Order, 1935, applies, shall be the quota in respect of the said first quota period.
