BY-LAW No. 432 OYSTER FISHERIES

KILLARY HARBOUR.


I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Fisheries Act, 1925 , the Fisheries (Re-distribution of Public Services) Order, 1934, and of every other power enabling me in this behalf DO MAKE AND ORDAIN THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW:—

(1) It shall not be lawful during the period from the first day of September, 1937, to the thirty-first day of August, 1939, to dredge for, take, catch, or destroy any Oysters or Oyster Brood in that part of Killary Harbour lying between a straight line drawn from Bundorragha Quay in the Townland of Bundorragha and County of Mayo to Derrynacleigh Quay in the Townland of Derrynacleigh and County of Galway, and a straight line from Gubacooneen in the Townland of Bundorragha and County of Mayo to the mouth of the Bunowen River, between the Townlands of Bunowen and Tullyconor in the County of Galway.

(2) Each and every person offending against this By-Law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding Five Pounds, and any Oyster or Oyster Brood taken in contravention thereof shall be forfeited.

(3) The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923) applies to the interpretation of this By-Law in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

(4) This By-Law may be cited for all purposes as the Killary Harbour Oyster By-Law No. 432, 1937.
