OFFENCES AGAINST THE STATE (INTERNMENT COMMISSION) ORDER, 1939. | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by section 59 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 (No. 13 of 1939), that, as soon as conveniently may be after Part VI of that Act comes into force, the Government shall set up a Commission to perform the functions imposed upon such Commission by that section, and that the members of such Commission shall be appointed by the Government : | ||
AND WHEREAS the said Part VI of the said Act came into force on the 22nd day of August, 1939 : | ||
NOW, the Government, in pursuance of section 59 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 (No. 13 of 1939), and in exercise of the powers conferred by that section and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :— | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Offences Against the State (Internment Commission) Order, 1939. | ||
2. The Commission required by section 59 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 (No. 13 of 1939), to be set up is hereby set up and shall be known and is in this Order referred to as the Internment Commission. | ||
3. The following persons are hereby appointed to be members of the Internment Commission, that is to say :— | ||
HUGH J. McCANN, Barrister-at-Law. | ||
MICHAEL TUOHY, Major in the Defence Forces. | ||
FELIX DEVLIN, Major in the Defence Forces. | ||
DUBLIN. | ||
