LARGE PUBLIC SERVICES VEHICLES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1942. | ||
The Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the power conferred on him by sub-section (2) of section 121 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 , as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 162) Order, 1942, hereby makes the following regulations, that is to say :— | ||
1. In these regulations the expression " the principal regulations " means the Large Public Service Vehicles Regulations, 1935. | ||
2. These regulations shall continue in force until the Emergency Powers Act, 1939 (No. 28 of 1939), ceases to be in force and shall then expire. | ||
3. During the continuance of these regulations the following article shall be substituted for Article 48 of the principal regulations, that is to say :— | ||
" Additional Passengers. | ||
48. —(1) Subject to the provisions of this article, a greater number of passengers may be carried in an omnibus than would otherwise be lawful under section 121 of the act. | ||
(2) No additional passengers may be carried by virtue of this article in the upper deck of a double-deck omnibus. | ||
(3) The additional passengers carried in a single-deck omnibus by virtue of this article shall not exceed in number eight or one-third of the sitting accommodation of the omnibus whichever is the less. | ||
(4) The additional passengers carried in the lower deck of a double-deck omnibus by virtue of this article shall not exceed in number eight or one-third of the sitting accommodation of such lower deck, whichever is the less." | ||
4. These regulations may be cited as the Large Public Service Vehicles (Amendment) Regulations, 1942. | ||
5. These regulations and the principal regulations shall be construed as one and may be collectively cited as the Large Public Service Vehicles Regulations, 1935 and 1942. | ||
