DUBLIN TAXIMETER AREA FARE BYE-LAWS, 1946.

DUBLIN TAXIMETER AREA FARE BYE-LAWS, 1946.

I, MICHAEL J. KINNANE, Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 139 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, after consultation with the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Dublin, the Council of the County of Dublin and the Corporation of Dún Laoghaire and with the consent of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health testified by his official seal affixed hereto, make the following bye-laws :

Short title and collective citation.

1.—(1) These Bye-laws may be cited as the Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1946.

(2) The Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1937 (S. R. & O., No. 192 of 1937), and these Bye-laws may be cited together as the Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1937 and 1946.

Amendment of Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1937.

2. The Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1937 (S. R. & O., No. 192 of 1937), are hereby amended—

(i) by the insertion in paragraph (a) of bye-law 3 of the words " and three pence " after the words " one shilling,"

(ii) by the insertion in paragraph (b) of bye-law 3 of the words " three farthings " after the words " three pence " wherever the latter words occur,

(iii) by the addition at the end of the Schedule of the Note set out in the Schedule to these Bye-laws.

SCHEDULE

NOTE AS TO INCREASE OF RATES FOR TIME AND DISTANCE CHARGES.

By the Dublin Taximeter Area Fare Bye-laws, 1946, the rates for time and distance charges have been increased by one-fourth and accordingly the proper fare in respect of those charges is that recorded on the taximeter increased by one-fourth. The extra payments in respect of additional passengers and luggage have not been changed.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section 8 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), the Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána has submitted the foregoing bye-laws to the Minister for Local Government and Public Health :

AND WHEREAS the provisions of subsections (1) and (5) of that section have been complied with in relation to the said bye-laws :

NOW, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 139 of the said Act, hereby consents to the making of the said bye-laws.
