MILITARY SERVICE PENSIONS ACT, 1934, REGULATIONS, 1951. |

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (2) of section 7 of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 (No. 43 of 1934), that every application under the said section 7 shall be made within the prescribed time : |

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by section 21 of the said Act that the Minister for Defence may by Order make regulations in relation to any matter or thing referred to in the said Act as prescribed : |

AND WHEREAS the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 , Regulations 1934 ( S. R. & O. No. 355 of 1934 ) were made by the Minister for Defence in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said Act, and were subsequently amended by the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 , Regulations, 1950 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1950 ), made on the 2nd day of March, 1950 : |

NOW, THEREFORE, I, OSCAR TRAYNOR, Minister for Defence, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 (No. 43 of 1934), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby make the following regulations :-- |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 , Regulations, 1951. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. |
||
3. The Minister for Defence may accept an application under section 7 of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 , not later than the 7th day of June, 1952, from any person who tenders reasons satisfactory to the Minister for his failure to apply before the 1st day of January, 1946, being the date fixed for the purpose by the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 (No. 3) Regulations, 1945. |

4. Paragraph 3 of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934 , Regulations, 1950 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1950 ) is hereby revoked. |
