DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS. THE MONEY ORDER AMENDMENT (No. 15) REGULATIONS, 1956.

DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS. THE MONEY ORDER AMENDMENT (No. 15) REGULATIONS, 1956.

Dated: 8th May, 1956.

The Minister for Finance, on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs as testified by his signature hereto, and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 23 and 82 of the Post Office Act, 1908, hereby makes the following regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Money Order Amendment (No. 15) Regulations, 1956.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 4th day of June, 1956.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. These Regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Money Order Regulations, 1903 (hereinafter called " the Principal Regulations "), and all Regulations amending the same.

5. So much of Regulation 18 of the Principal Regulations, as amended by the Money Order Amendment (No. 14) Regulations, 1951 ( S.I. No. 295 of 1951 ), as relates to the poundage payable in respect of Inland Money Orders is hereby revoked and the following is hereby substituted therefor :

" In respect of Inland Money Orders :

Poundage

for an amount not exceeding £5

9d.

for an amount exceeding £5 but not exceeding £10

1s.

for an amount exceeding £10 but not exceeding £20

1s.

3d.

for an amount exceeding £20 but not exceeding £30

1s.

6d.

for an amount exceeding £30 but not exceeding £50

2s. "
