COURTS (FEES) (TEMPORARY VARIATION) ORDER, 1956. |

I, JAMES EVERETT, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 65 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1936 (No. 48 of 1936), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows : |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Courts (Fees) (Temporary Variation) Order, 1956. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. |
||
3.--(1) Until the 30th day of November, 1956, any fee which is prescribed by an order specified in paragraph (2) of this Article and which, apart from this Order, would be required to be taken by means of an impressed stamp, may be taken by means of either-- |
||
(i) an impressed stamp, or |
||
(ii) an adhesive stamp, or |
||
(iii) an impressed stamp in respect of part of the fee and an adhesive stamp in respect of the remainder. |
||
(2) The Orders referred to in paragraph (1) of this Article are-- |
||
(a) the Supreme Court and High Court (Fees) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 251 of 1956 ). |
||
(b) the Circuit Court (Fees) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 249 of 1956 ) and |
||
(c) the District Court (Fees) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 250 of 1956 ). |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is to authorise, up to 30th November, 1956, the use of adhesive stamps in the collection of Court fees in cases where, but for the provisions of the Order, impressed stamps would be required. |
