S.I. No. 184/1965:

HAGUE PROTOCOL TO THE WARSAW CONVENTION (HIGH CONTRACTING PARTIES) ORDER, 1965.

HAGUE PROTOCOL TO THE WARSAW CONVENTION (HIGH CONTRACTING PARTIES) ORDER, 1965.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (2) of section 7 of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1959 (No. 1 of 1959), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Hague Protocol to the Warsaw Convention (High Contracting Parties) Order, 1965.

2. In this Order " the Hague Protocol " means the Protocol (signed at the Hague on the 28th day of September, 1955) to amend the Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International Carriage by Air which was signed at Warsaw on the 12th day of October, 1929.

3. It is hereby certified that the states specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order are the High Contracting Parties to the Hague Protocol and each such state is a High Contracting Party in respect of the territories specified in the second column of that Schedule opposite the mention of such state.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to certify who are the High Contracting Parties to the Hague Protocol of 1955. The Protocol, which amends the Warsaw Convention of 1929, relates to the liability of an air carrier in the event of death or injury to passengers or damage to goods in international carriage by air.
