I, GARRET FITZGERALD, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Commissioners for Oaths (Diplomatic and Consular) Act, 1931 (No. 9 of 1931), and section 2 of the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Act, 1939 (No. 31 of 1939), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations, 1974.

(2) The Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 263 of 1956 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1956 and 1974.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1975.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. The Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1956, are hereby amended by:

( a ) the substitution of the following for the First Schedule thereto:

"FIRST SCHEDULE

MISCELLANEOUS CONSULAR SERVICES

For the transaction of any duty for which a fee is leviable under these Regulations, whether at the Diplomatic or Consular Office or at the Diplomatic or Consular Officer's residence, in addition to such fee, for each half-hour, or fraction thereof, if in the night time--that is to say, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The purpose of these Regulations is to increase as indicated in the Regulations fees chargeable for services rendered under the Commissioners for Oaths (Diplomatic and Consular) Act, 1931 (No. 9 of 1931) and the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Act, 1939 (No. 31 of 1939).
