SOCIAL WELFARE (DESERTED WIFE'S ALLOWANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1978. |

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and sections 21 and 22 of the Social Welfare Act, 1970 (No. 12 of 1970), hereby makes the following Regulations: |

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Deserted Wife's Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1978. |
||
(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Deserted Wife's Allowance) Regulations, 1970 to 1976 may be cited collectively as the Social Welfare (Deserted Wife's Allowance) Regulations, 1970 to 1978. |
||
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1978. |
||
3. Article 6 of the Social Welfare (Deserted Wife's Allowance) Regulations, 1970 ( S.I. No. 227 of 1970 ) is hereby revoked. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Deserted Wife's Allowance) Regulations, 1970, by providing that a person applying for a deserted wife's allowance does not have to satisfy a residence test. |
