FUELS (CONTROL OF SUPPLIES) (REGULATION OF DELIVERIES OF GAS DIESEL OIL) ORDER, 1979.

The Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1971 (No. 3 of 1971), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Fuels (Control of Supplies) (Regulation of Deliveries of Gas Diesel Oil) Order, 1979.

2. In this Order--

"distributor" means a person, other than an oil retailer, who carries on the business of distributing or selling gas diesel oil;

"oil retailer" means a person who carries on the business of selling gas diesel oil, wholly or mainly by retail;

"oil wholesaler" means a person who carries on the business of selling gas diesel oil, wholly or mainly by wholesale.

3. In the period beginning on the commencement of this Order and ending on the 30th day of June, 1979, an oil wholesaler, oil retailer or a distributor shall, in the delivery of gas diesel oil, give priority to the delivery of such oil for the purposes of the following--

( a ) agriculture,

( b ) commerce,

( c ) fisheries,

( d ) hospitals and similar institutions,

( e ) industry,

( f ) tourism.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides that an oil wholesaler, oil retailer or distributor shall during the period ending 30/6/79 give priority to deliveries of gas diesel oil for the purposes of agriculture, commerce, fisheries, hospitals and other institutions, industry and tourism.
