POUNDS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1983.

POUNDS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1983.

I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 of the Pounds (Provision and Maintenance) Act, 1935 (No. 17 of 1935), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pounds (Amendment) Regulations, 1983.

2. The Pounds Regulations, 1938 to 1982, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Pounds Regulations, 1938 to 1983.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. The Pounds Regulations, 1938 (S. R. & O., No. 149 of 1938), shall have effect, in relation to chattels and animals impounded on or after the 9th day of May, 1983, as if the following Schedule were substituted for the Second Schedule (as amended by the Pounds (Amendment) Regulations, 1982, ( S.I. No. 20 of 1982 )):

SECOND SCHEDULE

Pound-keepers' Fees covering impounding and care of chattels and impounding, care and sustenance of and attendance on animals.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to increase with effect as on and from the 9th May, 1983 the Pound-keepers' Fees prescribed in the Pounds Regulations, 1938 to 1982.
