DUBLIN COUNTY (DISTRICT ELECTORAL DIVISIONS) REGULATIONS, 1986.

DUBLIN COUNTY (DISTRICT ELECTORAL DIVISIONS) REGULATIONS, 1986.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 89 of the Electoral Act, 1963 (No. 19 of 1963) hereby makes the following Regulations:--

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Dublin County (District Electoral Divisions) Regulations, 1986.

2. These Regulations shall come into force on the 12th day of April, 1986.

3. The Dublin County (District Electoral Divisions) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 17 of 1971 ) are hereby revoked.

4. In these Regulations--

(1) "the County" means the County of Dublin;

(2) "the County Borough" means the County Borough of Dublin;

(3) "the Borough" means the Borough of Dun Laoghaire;

(4) every reference to the boundary of an electoral county shall be construed as a reference to that boundary as described in the Third Schedule to the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 (No. 7 of 1985).

5. The County shall be divided into the district electoral divisions specified in the first column of the Schedule to these Regulations.

6. (1) Each district electoral division shall consist of the area described in the second column of the Schedule to these Regulations opposite the name of such district electoral division.

(2) In the Schedule to these Regulations--

( a ) a reference to a line drawn along any road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian way, tributary, river, stream, railway line, canal or bridge shall be construed as a reference to a line drawn along the centre of such road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian way, tributary, river, stream, railway line, canal or bridge;

( b ) a reference to the point at which any road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian way, tributary, river, stream, railway line, canal, bridge or imaginary projection is said to intersect or to join any other road, street, avenue, pedestrian way, tributary, river, stream, railway line, canal, bridge or imaginary projection shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of the one or, in the case of the imaginary projection, along the one, would be intersected or joined by a line drawn along the centre of the other, or in the case of the imaginary projection, along the other;

( c ) a reference to the point at which any road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian way, tributary, river, stream, railway line, canal, bridge or imaginary projection, intersects or joins a boundary shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of such road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian way, tributary, river, stream, railway line, canal, bridge or, in the case of an imaginary projection, a line drawn along such projection would intersect or join such boundary;

( d ) a reference to a line drawn along any road, or part of a road, which consists of a dual carriageway, shall be construed as a reference to a line drawn along the centre of the central median of such dual carriageway;

( e ) a reference to any townland which is situated partly in the County and partly in the County Borough or, partly in the County and partly in the Borough, shall be construed as a reference to that part of the townland which is not situated in the County Borough or the Borough.

PART I

Commencing at the junction of Knocklyon Drive and Ballyroan Road; thence in a south-easterly direction along Ballyroan Road to its junction with Ballyboden Road; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along Ballyboden Road to its junction with Scholarstown Road; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along Scholarstown Road to its junction with Knocklyon Road; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along Knocklyon Road to its intersection by the imaginary south westerly projection of the rear boundary of houses on the southern side of Coolamber Court; thence in a north-easterly direction along the said imaginary projection, the said boundary and the south-eastern boundary of the open space area situated between number 15 and 16 Coolamber Court to its junction with the rear boundary of number 32 Ballyroan Park; thence in a south-easterly direction along the said boundary and its imaginary south-easterly projection to its intersection by the imaginary south-westerly projection of Knocklyon Drive, thence in a north-easterly direction along the said imaginary projection and Knocklyon Drive to the starting point.
Bohernabreena The townlands of:
Allagour, Ballymorefinn, Bohernabreena, Castlekelly, Corrageen, Cunard, Friarstown Lower, Friarstown Upper, Glassamucky, Glassamucky Brakes, Glassamucky Mountain, Glassavullaun, Jamestown (in the parish of Cruagh), Killakee, Kiltipper, Mountpelier, Orlagh, Piperstown and those parts of the townlands of Cruagh, Killininny, Newtown, Oldbawn, Oldcourt and Woodtown situated south of a line drawn as follows:--
commencing at the intersection of the western boundary of the townland of Kiltipper by Kiltipper Road; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along Kiltipper Road to its junction with Oldcourt Road; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along Oldcourt Road to its junction with Killakee Road, thence in a north-easterly direction along Killakee Road to its junction with Mount Venus Road; thence in a south-easterly direction along Mount Venus Road to its junction with Edmonstown Road, thence in a northerly direction along Edmonstown Road to its junction with Mutton Lane, thence in an easterly direction along Mutton Lane to its junction with the Electoral County boundary.
Clondalkin-Ballymount That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the intersection of Naas Road by the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to its intersection by Ballymount Road Lower; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along Ballymount Road Lower and Ballymount Road to its junction with Belgard Road, passing in a clockwise direction around and including the roundabout at the junction of Ballymount Road Upper and Ballymount Road Lower; thence in a north-westerly direction along Belgard Road to its junction with Naas Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along Naas Road to the starting point.
Clondalkin-Cappaghmore That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the junction of the Lucan-Clondalkin Road and Lynch's Lane; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the Lucan-Clondalkin Road to its intersection by the Grand Canal; thence in a westerly direction along the Grand Canal to its intersection by the western boundary of the townland of Kishogue; thence in a northerly direction along the said boundary to its intersection by Lynch's Lane; thence in a north-easterly direction along Lynch's Lane to the starting point.
Clondalkin-Dunawley That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the intersection of the Lucan-Milltown Road by the Grand Canal; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along the Grand Canal to its junction with Ninth Lock Road; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along Ninth Lock Road to its junction with Nangor Road; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along Nangor Road to its junction with the Lucan-Milltown Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the Lucan-Milltown Road to the starting point.
Clondalkin-Monastery That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the intersection of Ninth Lock Road by the Grand Canal; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along the Grand Canal and the County Borough boundary to its intersection by Naas Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along Naas Road to its junction with New Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along New Road to its junction with Main Street, Clondalkin; thence in a south-westerly direction along Main Street to its junction with Tower Road; thence in a northerly direction along Tower Road and Ninth Lock Road to the starting point.
Clondalkin-Moorfield That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the junction of Irishtown Road with the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to its junction with the Grand Canal; thence in a westerly direction along the Grand Canal to its intersection by the Clondalkin-Lucan Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along the Clondalkin-Lucan Road to its junction with Neilstown Spine Road; thence in a northerly direction along Neilstown Spine Road to its junction with Coldcut Road, passing in an anti-clockwise direction around and excluding the roundabout at the said junction; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along Coldcut Road and Irishtown Road to the starting point.
Clondalkin-Rowlagh That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the junction of Fonthill Road and Coldcut Road; thence in an easterly direction along Coldcut Road to its junction with Neilstown Spine Road, passing in an anti-clockwise direction around and excluding the roundabout at the said junction; thence in a southerly direction along Neilstown Spine Road to its junction with the Clondalkin- Lucan Road; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along the Clondalkin-Lucan Road to its junction with Fonthill Road; thence in a northerly direction along Fonthill Road to the starting point.

Commencing at the junction of Ballycullen Road and Knocklyon Road; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along Knocklyon Road and Scholarstown Road to its junction with Stocking Lane; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along Stocking Lane and Killakee Road to its junction with Oldcourt Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Oldcourt Road to its junction with Ballycullen Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Ballycullen Road to the starting point.
Firhouse-Knocklyon That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the intersection of the River Dodder by the imaginary northerly projection of Knocklyon Road, thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the said imaginary projection, and Knocklyon Road to its junction with Ballycullen Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along Ballycullen Road to its junction with Firhouse Road; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along Firhouse Road to its junction with the entrance road to Mount Carmel Park: thence commencing in a northerly direction and proceeding along the said road and the footbridge north-west of number 20 Mount Carmel Park to its intersection by the River Dodder; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along the River Dodder to the starting point.
Firhouse Village That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the junction of Firhouse Road and Ballycullen Road; thence commencing in a south- westerly direction and proceeding along Ballycullen Road to its junction with Oldcourt Road; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along Oldcourt Road to its intersection by the River Dodder; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the River Dodder to its intersection by the footbridge north-east of Mount Carmel Park; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the said footbridge and the entrance road to Mount Carmel Park, passing west of number 20 Mount Carmel Park, to its junction with Firhouse Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along Firhouse Road to the starting point.
Lucan-Esker That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--

commencing at the junction of the Naas Road and the Corbally-Collegeland Road; thence in a south- easterly direction along the Corbally-Collegeland Road to its junction with the southern boundary of the townland of Collegeland; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along the said boundary to its junction with the Naas Road, thence in a north-easterly direction along the Naas Road to the starting point, those parts of the townlands of Keatingspark and Tootenhill situated south of a line drawn along the Naas Road, and that part of the townland of Rathcoole situated within a line drawn as follows:--
commencing at the intersection of the western boundary of the townland of Rathcoole by the Naas Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the Naas Road to its junction with the eastern boundary of the townland of Rathcoole; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the said boundary to its northernmost intersection by an un-named stream south of the junction of Naas Road and the Corbally-Collegeland Road; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the said stream to its junction with the southern boundary of the townland; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the said boundary and the western boundary of the townland to the starting point.
Rathfarnham-Ballyroan That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the intersection of the River Dodder by the imaginary north-westerly projection of Marian Road; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the said imaginary projection and Marian Road to its junction with Ballyroan Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Ballyroan Road to its junction with Knocklyon Drive; thence in a south-westerly direction along Knocklyon Drive and its imaginary south-westerly projection to its intersection by the imaginary south-easterly projection of the rear boundary of number 32 Ballyroan Park; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along the said imaginary projection and the said boundary to its junction with the south-eastern boundary of the open space area between number 15 and number 16 Coolamber Court; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the said boundary and the rear boundary of houses on the southern side of Coolamber Court and its imaginary south-westerly projection to its intersection by Knocklyon Road; thence in a northerly direction along Knocklyon Road and its imaginary northerly projection to its intersection by the River Dodder; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the River Dodder to the starting point.

Commencing at the junction of the County Borough boundary and the Owedoher River; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the Owedoher River to its intersection by Ballyroan Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Ballyroan Road to its junction with Marian Road; thence commencing in a northerly direction and proceeding along Marian Road and its imaginary north-westerly projection to its intersection by the River Dodder; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the River Dodder to its first junction with the County Borough boundary; thence in a north-easterly direction along the County Borough boundary to the starting point.
Rathfarnham-Hermitage That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the junction of Grange Road and the Electoral County boundary nearest Loreto Terrace, thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the Electoral County boundary to its junction with Grange Road nearest Marley Drive; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along Grange Road to the starting point.
Rathfarnham-St. Edna's That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the junction of the Owedoher River and Grange Road; thence commencing in a south- easterly direction and proceeding along Grange Road to its junction with Taylor's Lane; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along Taylor's Lane to its junction with Ballyboden Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along Ballyboden Road to its junction with Ballyroan Road; thence in- a north-westerly direction along Ballyroan Road to its intersection by the Owedoher River; thence in a north-easterly direction along the Owedoher River to the starting point.
Rathfarnham Village That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:--
Commencing at the junction of the County Borough boundary and the Electoral County boundary at the River Dodder; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the Electoral County boundary to its junction with Grange Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Grange Road to its junction with Butterfield Avenue; thence in a north-westerly direction along Butterfield Avenue to its intersection by the Owedoher River; thence in a north-westerly direction along the Owedoher River to its junction with the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to the starting point.
Saggart The townlands of:--

Boherboy, Brittas Big, Brittas Little, Coldwater Commons, Coolmine (in the parish of Saggart), Crooksling, Glenaraneen, Lugg, Moneyatta Commons, Raheen (in the parish of Saggart), Saggart and Slade;

that part of the townland of Collegeland situated within a line drawn as follows:
