SOCIAL WELFARE (MODIFICATIONS OF INSURANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1991. |

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 7 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 (No. 1 of 1981), hereby makes the following Regulations:-- |
||
| Short title and collective citation. | ||
|
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1991. |
||
|
(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1991 ( S.I. No. 94 of 1991 ) shall be construed together as one and may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1991. |
||
| Commencement. | ||
|
2. These Regulations shall come into operation-- |
||
|
(a) on the 28th day of November, 1991 as respects retirement pension, and |
||
|
(b) on the 29th day of November, 1991 as respects old age (contributory) pension. |
||
| Amendment of 1991 Regulations. | ||
|
3. The Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1991 are hereby amended by-- |
||
|
(a) the insertion in paragraph (b) of sub-article (2) of article 5 of "subject to articles 7 and 10 of the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension and Retirement Pension) Regulations, 1991," before "employment contributions", |
||
|
(b) the insertion in paragraph (b) of sub-article (2) of article 6 of "subject to articles 7 and 10 of the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension and Retirement Pension) Regulations, 1991," before "employment contributions", and |
||
|
(c) the insertion in paragraph (b) of sub-article (2) of article 7 of "subject to articles 7 and 10 of the Social Welfare (Old Age (Contributory) Pension and Retirement Pension) Regulations, 1991," before "employment contributions". |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
|
This Regulation amends the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations to allow contributions at the modified rate to be taken into account for the purposes of calculating the pro-rata mixed insurance pensions. |
||
