DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR FEES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1992.

DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR FEES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1992.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Act, 1939 (No. 31 of 1939), as adapted by the External Affairs (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 158 of 1971 ), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations, 1992.

(2) The Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1982 to 1988, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1982 to 1992.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of February 1992.

2. The Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations 1982 ( S.I. No. 344 of 1982 ) are hereby amended by the substitution of the following Part for Part I of the Second Schedule (inserted by the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 340 of 1988 )):

"TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND DOCUMENTS OF INDENTITY

FEE INCREASE EFFECTIVE 1 FEBRUARY, 1992.

1. (a) For the issue of a passport of 32 pages. 45.00
(b) For the issue of a passport of 94 or 96 pages. 90.00
2. For the renewal of a passport, for each year of renewal. 5.00
3. (a) For the issue of a passport (32 pages) to a person under 18 years or over 65 years of age, for one year of validity. 5.00
(b) For each additional year of validity of a passport specified at 3 (a), provided the person remains within the qualifying age. 5.00
4. For the endorsement or change of a passport subsequent to its issue:

(a) where the endorsement or change involves the issue of a new passport booklet,

(b) where the endorsement or change does not involve the issue of a new passport booklet for each item endorsed or changed.

5. For the issue of a new passport for the unexpired period of validity of an existing valid passport returned for cancellation:

(a) new 32 page passport,

(b) new 96 page passport,

(c) new 96 page passport where the passport returned for cancellation is a 32 page passport.

6. For the issue of an emergency travel document. 5.00
7. For affixing the finger prints of a merchant seaman to a seaman's identity card and for endorsing same. 9.00

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Regulations is to provide for changes in the fees payable in regard to travel documents and documents of identity and for the amendment of the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 340 of 1988 ).
