SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1992 (SECTION 29) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992.

SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1992 (SECTION 29) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 29 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 (No. 5 of 1992), hereby orders as follows--

Citation.

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1992 (Section 29) (Commencement) Order, 1992.

Commencement.

2. Section 29 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 shall come into operation on the 20th day of July, 1992.

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Social Welfare this 10th day of July, 1992.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order brings into effect, from the 20th of July, 1992, section 29 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 which provides for the disqualification of a person under age 55 who receives a redundancy payment above a prescribed amount from the receipt of unemployment benefit for a period of up to nine weeks.
