The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 (No. 5 of 1992), hereby orders as follows: |

| Citation. | ||

1. This order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1992 (Section 28) (Commencement) Order, 1992. |
||
| Commencement. | ||
|
2. Section 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 shall come into operation on the 4th day of January, 1993. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
|
This order brings Section 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 , which provides for an additional condition for entitlement to unemployment benefit that a person must have suffered a substantial loss of employment and prove unemployment in the prescribed manner, into effect from 4 January, 1993. |
