SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1992 (SECTION 28) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992.

SOCIAL WELFARE ACT, 1992 (SECTION 28) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1992.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 (No. 5 of 1992), hereby orders as follows:

Citation.

1. This order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1992 (Section 28) (Commencement) Order, 1992.

Commencement.

2. Section 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 shall come into operation on the 4th day of January, 1993.

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Social Welfare this 30th day of December, 1992.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order brings Section 28 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992 , which provides for an additional condition for entitlement to unemployment benefit that a person must have suffered a substantial loss of employment and prove unemployment in the prescribed manner, into effect from 4 January, 1993.
