EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order applies to persons who import into the State certain petroleum products either for their own use or for disposal in the State. Such persons are legally obliged to purchase a certain proportion of such petroleum products from the Irish National Petroleum Corporation Limited. Persons for whom the relevant proportion is calculated to be less than 20 tonnes have, effectively, been exempt from this obligation. This Order reduces the threshold under which this exemption applies from 20 tonnes to 5 tonnes. The Order also amends the product range to which the purchase obligation applies. |
