REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS (COUNTY OF KILDARE) (SPECIAL DIFFICULTY) ORDER, 1995.

REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS (COUNTY OF KILDARE) (SPECIAL DIFFICULTY) ORDER, 1995.

Whereas it appears to the Minister for the Environment that, by reason of the failure of the registration authority to publish on or before the specified date a draft register of electors for the year 1996/97 in accordance with the provisions of section 20 and paragraph (6) of Rule 5 of the Second Schedule to the Electoral Act, 1992 (No. 23 of 1992), there is a special difficulty in relation to the preparation of the register of electors for the County of Kildare for the year 1996/97, the Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 164 of the Electoral Act, 1992 hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Electors (County of Kildare) (Special Difficulty) Order, 1995.

2. In this Order "the Act" means the Electoral Act, 1992 .

3. In relation to the register of electors for the County of Kildare for the year 1996/97, notwithstanding the provisions of sections 6 and 20 and paragraph (4) of Rule 1 of the Second Schedule to the Act, the dates on or by reference to which any act or thing is required by paragraph (6) of Rule 5, paragraphs (2), (4) and (5) of Rule 7 and paragraph (2) of Rule 12 of the Second Schedule to the Act to be performed or done shall be the dates specified for those purposes in the Schedule to the Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order specifies revised dates to apply in relation to the preparation of the 1996/97 register of electors for County Kildare.
