EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (LABELLING OF BEEF AND BEEF PRODUCTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998.

I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Regulation (EC) No. 824/98⁽¹⁾ of 20 April 1998, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Labelling of Beef and Beef Products) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998.

2. The European Communities (Labelling of Beef and Beef Products) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1998 ) is hereby amended by the substitution in Regulation 1, paragraph (2), of "the 1st day of July 1998" for "the 1st day of April, 1998 ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Regulations is to amend the European Communities (Labelling of Beef and Beef Products) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1998 ) through changing the date on which those Regulations come into effect.
