The Minister for Social and Family Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by sections 2(1) (as amended by sections 8 and 9(a) of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2008 (No. 22 of 2008)) and 4 (as amended by section 17 and Schedule 3 of the Social Welfare Law Reform and Pensions Act 2006 (No. 5 of 2006)) of the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005 (No. 26 of 2005) hereby makes the following regulations: |

Citation and construction |

1. (1) These regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Claims, Payments and Control) (Amendment) (No. 4) (Island Allowance) Regulations 2009. |
||
(2) These regulations and the Social Welfare (Consolidated Claims, Payments and Control) Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 142 of 2007) shall be construed together as one and may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Claims, Payments and Control) Regulations 2007 to 2009. |

Island Allowance |
||
2. The Social Welfare (Consolidated Claims, Payments and Control) Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 142 of 2007) are amended by the insertion in Schedule 16 after "Coney Island, Co. Sligo," of "Dernish Island, Moneygold, Co.Sligo,". |

These regulations provide for the addition of Dernish Island in Co. Sligo to the list of prescribed islands for the purposes of the Island Allowance payable to certain social welfare recipients who are normally resident on those islands. |
