Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 19th July, 2013.

I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 618/2013 of 26 June 2013¹ , hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Official Controls on the Import of Food of Non-Animal Origin for Pesticide Residues) (Amendment)(No. 3) Regulations 2013.

2. The European Communities (Official Controls on the Import of Food of Non-Animal Origin for Pesticide Residues) Regulations 2011 ( S.I. No. 426 of 2011 ) are amended by substituting in Regulation 2(1) for the definition of “Commission Regulation 669/2009” the following-

“ ‘Commission Regulation 669/2009’ means Commission Regulation (EC) No. 669/2009 of 24 July 2009² as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) No. 212/2010 of 12 March 2010³ , Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1235/2012 of 19 December 2012⁴ , Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 91/2013 of 31 January 2013⁵ , Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 270/2013 of 21 March 2013⁶ and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 618/2013 of 26 June 2013;”.

3. The European Communities (Official Controls on the Import of Food of Non-Animal Origin for Pesticide Residues) (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 2013 ( S.I. No.170 of 2013 ) are revoked.

These Regulations revise controls on the import of certain food and feed of non-animal origin from specific third countries with regard to pesticide residues.
