I, BRENDAN HOWLIN, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Freedom of Information Act 1997 (No. 13 of 1997) and to the extent that these Regulations relate to the functions of the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, with the consent of that Minister, and having complied with subsection (3) of that section, hereby make the following regulations: |

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Freedom of Information Act 1997 (Prescribed Bodies) Regulations 2014. |
||
(2) These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on 17 July 2013. |
||
2. Irish Water stands prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 1(5) of the First Schedule to the Freedom of Information Act 1997 (No. 13 of 1997). |
||
The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government consents to the foregoing Regulations. |
||

These Regulations prescribe Irish Water as a public body for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (No. 13 of 1997) by its inclusion in subparagraph (5) of paragraph 1 of the First Schedule to that Act. |
||
In accordance with section 3 subparagraph 5 of that Act, these Regulations provide that the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 shall apply to all functions of Irish Water. |
