The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety[1], in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 9(5) and 52(1) of the Fire Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1984[2], and now vested in it[3], and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.
—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fire Services (Discipline) (Revocation) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 and shall come into operation on 1st June 2006.
(2) In these Regulations "the 1985 Regulations" means the Fire Services (Discipline) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985.
Revocation and Saving
2.
—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the 1985 Regulations are hereby revoked.
(2) Without prejudice to section 28 of the Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954[4], in relation to a report made or an allegation received under regulation 5(1) of the 1985 Regulations or a charge preferred under regulation 9(3) of those Regulations, in either case before 1st June 2006, those Regulations shall continue to have effect as if these Regulations had not been made.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
These Regulations revoke the Fire Services (Discipline) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 ("the 1985 Regulations").
Reports or allegations received and disciplinary charges that have been preferred before the coming into operation of these Regulations continue to be dealt with under the procedures set out in the 1985 Regulations.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this Rule as it has no impact on the cost of business, charities or voluntary bodies.
