The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 6(4), 13(1) and 48(1) of the Food Safety Act 1990[1], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, having regard in accordance with section 48(4A) of that Act to relevant advice given by the Food Standards Agency, hereby make the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Food (Animal Products from Belgium) (Emergency Control) (Scotland) Revocation Order 2000 and shall come into force on 21st June 2000. Revocation 2. The Food (Animal Products from Belgium) (Emergency Control) (Scotland) Order 2000[2] is hereby revoked. SUSAN C DEACON A member of the Scottish Executive St Andrew's House, Edinburgh 25th May 2000 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order) This Order, which applies to Scotland, revokes the Food (Animal Products from Belgium) (Emergency Control) (Scotland) Order 2000 (S.S.I. 2000/15), and implements in Scotland, in relation to food, Commission Decision 2000/301/EC repealing the protective measures with regard to contamination by dioxins of certain products of porcine and poultry origin intended for human or animal consumption (O.J. No. L97, 19.4.2000, p.16). [1] 1990 c.16; section 6(4) was amended by paragraph 6 of Schedule 9 to the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 (c.40) and by paragraph 10(3) of Schedule 5 to the Food Standards Act 1999 (c.28); sections 13(1) and 48(1) were amended by paragraph 8 of that Schedule. The functions of the Secretary of State were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c.46).back
