Summary: The complainant requested information regarding the UK Government-™s funding of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the Middle East. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (the FCO) provided some information in the form of a table but withheld the rest under section 38(1)(a) and (b) of the FOIA -“ information that if disclosed would endanger the health and safety of individuals. The Information Commissioner-™s (the Commissioner) decision is that the FCO was correct to withhold the information under section 38(1) of the FOIA. The Commissioner does not require the public authority to take any further remedial steps.
