Summary: The complainant has requested information about the number of sexual assaults and rapes reported where the offender was a taxi or private hire driver. The public authority confirmed that it held information but advised that to comply with the request would exceed the appropriate limit. The Information Commissioner-™s decision is that the public authority has correctly applied section 12(1) of FOIA as a basis for non-disclosure of the requested information. He does, however, find that it breached section 16 in failing to give adequate advice and assistance. He does not require any steps to be taken.
Section of Act/EIR & Finding: FOI 12 - Complaint Not upheld, FOI 16 - Complaint Upheld
