Summary: The complainant submitted a request to the Home Office for information on applications for discretionary leave to remain in the UK on human rights grounds. By the date of this notice the Home Office had yet to provide a substantive response to this request. The Information Commissioner-™s decision is that the Home Office breached section 10 of the FOIA in that it failed to provide a valid response to the request within 20 working days of receipt. The Commissioner requires the Home Office to issue a response under the FOIA.
