Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service

The complainant requested information from the Metropolitan Police Service (“the MPS”) relating to the use of Violence Suppression Units. By the date of this notice the MPS had failed to provide a substantive response to this request. The Commissioner’s decision is that the MPS has breached section 10(1) of the FOIA in that it failed to provide a valid response to the request within the statuary timeframe of 20 working days. The Commissioner requires the MPS to respond to the complainant’s response in accordance with the FOIA.
