The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 2 of the Public Offices Fees Act, 1879, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:-
1. From the coming into operation of this Order the fees payable in the Office of the Civil Service Commission or to the officers thereof shall be collected in money, and not by means of stamps.
2. The Treasury Notice, dated the 26th day of September, 1870(1), under the Public Offices Fees Act, 1866(2), directing that fees payable in the Office of the Civil Service Commission shall be collected by means of stamps, is hereby revoked.
3. The Interpretation Act, 1889, shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
4. This Order may be cited as the Civil Service Commission (Fees) Order, 1956, and shall come into operation on the first day of June, nineteen hundred and fifty-six.
