Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 20(3) of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 and of section 36 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety and Load Line Conventions) Act 1932, both as having effect by virtue of section 3(6) of the Post Office Act 1969, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-

1. This Order may be cited as the Wireless Telegraphy (Isle of Man) Order 1969 and shall come into operation on 1st October 1969.

2. The provisions of section 3(1) to (5) of the Post Office Act 1969 (other than the words in subsection (1)(i) relating to the Defamation Act 1952 and the Defamation Act (Northern Ireland) 1955 and the words in subsection (5) from "and any sums" to the end of the subsection) shall extend to the Isle of Man.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order extends section 3 of the Post Office Act 1969 (transfer of the Postmaster General's functions with respect to wireless telegraphy to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications) to the Isle of Man.
