The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretaries of State respectively concerned with the sea fishing industry in Scotland and Northern Ireland in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 7(4) of the Sea Fisheries Act 1968 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as the Foreign Sea-Fishery Officers Order 1976 and shall come into operation on 22nd July 1976.
2.-(1) In this order:-
"the Act" means
"the baselines" means
"the Convention" means
"the Convention area" means
"mile" means
"the 12 mile line" means
"the 200 mile line" means
"the United Kingdom baselines" means
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
3. In relation to the Convention there are hereby specified as foreign sea-fishery officers, entitled to exercise in relation to British fishing boats anywhere within the Convention area the powers referred to in section 9 of the Act, persons duly appointed by the government of Iceland as inspectors to enforce the provisions of the Convention.
In Witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is hereunto affixed on 12th July 1976.

The area between the 12 mile line and the 200 mile line but excluding therefrom-
the area of sea within a radius of 12 miles from Kolbeinsey (67° 08.8&min; north latitude 18° 40.6&min; west longitude).
the areas of sea beyond the median lines, that is to say-
a line every point of which is equidistant from the nearest point on the baselines on the one hand and the baselines of Greenland on the other;
a line every point of which is equidistant from the nearest point on the baselines on the one hand and the baselines of the Faroe Islands on the other;
a line every point of which is equidistant from the nearest point on the baselines on the one hand and the United Kingdom baselines on the other.
This Order specifies the class of persons who are to be foreign sea-fishery officers for the purpose of enforcing a specified Convention between the United Kingdom Government and the government of Iceland relating to the conduct of fishing in the area specified in the order.
