The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17(2) of the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1980.
2. The Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977, so far as not already in force in Northern Ireland, shall come into force on 1st January 1981.

This Order brings into force in Northern Ireland on 1st January 1981 the remaining provisions of the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 which abolish detinue and amend the law concerning interference with goods. The Act is already in force in England and Wales.
