The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 23(2A) of the Health Services Act 1976(1) and section 130(4) of the National Health Service Act 1977, hereby makes the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as the Isles of Scilly (National Health Service) Order 1981 and shall come into operation on 9th November 1981.
2.-(1) The Health Services Act 1976 shall extend to the Isles of Scilly.
(2) The National Health Service Act 1977 shall extend to the Isles of Scilly with the modification that the expression "local authority" in that Act shall, in relation to those Isles, mean
3. The Isles of Scilly (National Health Service) Orders 1948, 1951, 1961 and 1969 are hereby revoked.

This Order extends the Health Services Act 1976 and the National Health Service Act 1977 to the Isles of Scilly and revokes orders extending repealed former legislation to those Isles.
section 23(2A) was inserted by the Health Services Act 1980 (c.53), Schedule 3, paragraph 6(2).
