The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 27(1) of the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Forgery and Counterfeiting (Protected Coins) Order 1981 and shall come into operation on 27th October 1981.
2. The coins listed in the Schedule to this Order are hereby specified for the purposes of Part II of the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981.

Any coin denominated as a fraction of a Krugerrand.

This Order specifies the coins listed in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of Part II of the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981. The Act comes into force on 27th October 1981 and Part II makes fresh provision with respect to the counterfeiting of notes and coins and kindred offences. The offences in Part II which are applicable to protected coins will apply to the coins specified in this Order as well as any coin which is customarily used as money in any country.
