The Secretary of State for the Environment as respects England, the Secretary of State for Scotland as respects Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 74(3) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, hereby make the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1982.
2. The following provisions of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, namely-
(a)Part I so far as not already in force;
(b)section 72 so far as not already in force;
(c)section 73(1) so far as relating to the entries in Schedule 17 specified below;
(d)Schedule 17 so far as relating to the entries in Part II thereof not already in force, except the entries as respects sections 27 to 35 and 38 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949, the London Government Act 1963, Schedule 3 to the Countryside Act 1968, the Courts Act 1971, the Town and Country Planning Act 1971, Schedule 17 to the Local Government Act 1972 and the Highways Act 1980,
shall come into force on 28th September 1982.

This order provides for Part I of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, together with the relevant amendments and repeals, to come into force on 28th September 1982. The provisions of Part I are concerned with the protection of wildlife.
In addition to the provisions of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 brought into force by section 74(2) of that Act, the following provisions have been brought into force by previous commencement orders:
