Thus such films are to be treated as British films for the purposes of eligibility for certification as films on which expenditure on production or acquisition shall be regarded as expenditure of a revenue nature. The agreements with France, Italy, the Federal Republic of Germany, Canada and Norway are published as Cmnd. 2781, 3434, 5972, 6274 and 8860 respectively. The agreements relate to films which may be made by a British producer in co-operation with a producer from one of the respective countries in accordance with the terms of an approval given by the competent authorities designated by the respective Governments.
The agreements specify the matters to which these authorities are required to have regard when considering the grant of an approval in relation to a proposed film.
