The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 1, 7(1)(a), (b) and (c) and (2) and 23(f) and (g) of the Animal Health Act 1981(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby order as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 27th August 1987.
2. In this Order the "principal Order" means the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978(2).
3.-(1) At the end of Schedule 1 to the principal Order (which lists disinfectants approved by the Minister) there shall be added the entries listed in Schedule 1 to this Order.
(2) The entries listed in Schedule 2 to this Order shall be deleted from Schedule 1 to the principal Order.
(3) After Schedule 1 to the principal Order there shall be inserted as Schedule 2 to that Order the provisions of Schedule 3 to this Order.
(4) In article 6(2) of the principal Order (which specifies the date until which disinfectants subject to transitional provisions remain approved) for the words "30th June 1987" there shall be substituted the words "31st December 1987".
In Witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is hereunto affixed on 29th July 1987.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order further amends the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978 by adding to the list of approved disinfectants in that Order those newly approved disinfectants which are mentioned in Schedule 1 to this Order and by deleting from that list the disinfectants mentioned in Schedule 2 (article 3(1) and (2)). The disinfectants deleted may, however, continue to be used as approved disinfectants until 31st December 1987 (article 3(3) and (4)).
