PUBLIC ORDER

The Public Order (Football Exclusion) Order 1987

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sections 34(4) and 36(1) of the Public Order Act 1986(1), I hereby make the following Order:-�

1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Public Order (Football Exclusion) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st August 1987.

(2) In this Order"the 1986 Act"means the Public Order Act 1986.

2. The General Secretary of The Football Association Limited shall be a prescribed person for purposes of section 34 of the 1986 Act.

3. An association football match specified in the Schedule to this Order shall be a prescribed football match for purposes of section 36 of the 1986 Act.

Article 3

SCHEDULEPRESCRIBED FOOTBALL MATCHES

1. An association football match in which one or both of the participating teams represents a club which is for the time being a member (whether a full or associate member) of The Football League.

2. An international association football match.

3. An association football match (not already specified in paragraph 1 above) in the competition for-�

(a)the European Champion Clubs' Cup;

(b)the European Cup Winners' Cup; or

(c)the UEFA Cup.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Where, on convicting a person of an offence within section 31 of the Public Order Act 1986, a court makes an exclusion order prohibiting that person from entering any premises for the purpose of attending a prescribed football match there or the court subsequently makes an order terminating an exclusion order, section 34 of the Act requires the clerk of the magistrates' court or the appropriate officer of the Crown Court, as appropriate, to provide a copy of the order to the person to whom the exclusion order relates, the chief officer of police for the area in which the offence was committed and any prescribed person.

Article 2 of this Order prescribes the General Secretary of The Football Association Ltd and article 3 prescribes the association football matches for these purposes.
