The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33 (3) of the Petroleum and Submarine Pipe-lines Act 1975(1) (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after giving those persons affected an opportunity of being heard with respect to the matter, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Submarine Pipe-lines (Designated Owners) (No. 17) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st August 1988.
2. For the purposes of Part III of the Act, each person specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto is hereby designated as the owner of the pipe-line described in Part II of the Schedule.

Amoco (UK) Exploration Company, whose principal of business in the United Kingdom is at Amoco House, 1 Stephen Street, Tottenham Court Road, London W1P 1PJ.
Esso Exploration and Production UK Ltd., whose registered office is at Esso House, Victoria Street, London SW1E 5JW.
Gas Council (Exploration) Ltd., whose registered office is at Rivermill House, 152 Grosvenor Road, London SW1V 3JL.
Shell U.K. Ltd., whose registered office is at Shell-Mex House, Strand, London WC2R 0DX.
Texas Eastern North Sea Inc., whose principal place of business in the United Kingdom is at Berkeley Square House, Berkeley Square, London W1X 5LE.

This Order designates the companies listed in Part I of the Schedule as owners of the pipe-line described in Part II of the Schedule. The pipe-line lies between the Indefatigable and Leman gasfields, situated north-east of the Norfolk coast.
