The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 20 and 29(1) of the Building (Scotland) Act 1959 (1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 30th January 1989.
2. For Schedule 2 to the Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1981 (2) there shall be substituted the Schedule to these Regulations.

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations replace and simplify the scale of building control fees in the Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1981. The average increase is 20%. Flat rate and minimum fees are increased to £12.
1959 c. 24; section 20 was substituted by the Housing (Scotland) Act 1986 (c. 65), section 19(6); section 29(1) contains a definition of "prescribed" relevant to these Regulations.
