The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1) ("the 1984 Act"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Secretary of State for the Home Department in accordance with section 7(6) of the 1984 Act, hereby makes the following Order:-�
1. This Order may be cited as the A406 Trunk Road (North Circular Road, Brent) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 6th September 1989.
2. In this Order:-�
"North Circular Road" means that length of the London North Circular Trunk Road (A406) in the London Borough of Brent known as North Circular Road; and
"central reservation" means that part of North Circular Road which separates the two carriageways of North Circular Road for the safety or guidance of vehicles using that road.
3. Save as provided in article 5 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding westwards in North Circular Road to make a U-turn through the gap in the central reservation opposite the junction of Drury Way and Brentfield Road with North Circular Road so as to proceed in the opposite direction to that in which it was proceeding.
4. Save as provided in article 5 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding westwards in North Circular Road to make a right turn through the said gap in the central reservation for the purpose of entering Drury Way.
5. Nothing in articles 3 and 4 above shall apply:
(a)in respect of any vehicle being used for fire brigade, police or ambulance purposes; or
(b)to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.
