1. The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order andshown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to bea trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from a dateto be specified in a notice given by the Secretary of State to theCounty Council of Cambridgeshire who will become the highway authorityresponsible for that length. The date specified will be the date onwhich the new trunk roads are opened for through traffic.
2. In this Order -
(1) All measurements of distance are measured along the route of therelevant highway;
(i)"classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not aprincipal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which referto highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road forthe purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highwaysclassified by the Secretary of State and which does not specificallyrefer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)"the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/2E/323 marked"the A11 Trunk Road (Newmarket to Red Lodge Dualling) Detrunking Order1991", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at theDepartment of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
(iii)"the trunk road" means the A11 Trunk road;
(iv)"the new trunk roads" means the trunk roads to be constructed by the Secretary of Statein pursuance of the A11 Trunk Road (Newmarket to Red Lodge Dualling)Slip Roads Order 1991(3).
3. This Order shall come into force on 24th May 1991 and may be citedas the A11 Trunk Road (Newmarket to Red Lodge Dualling) Detrunking Order1991.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is thatlength of the trunk road which is situated between a point approximately860 metres northeast of Chippenham-Kentford Crossroads to a pointapproximately 980 metres northeast of Chippenham-Kentford Crossroads.
