The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 126(2) of the Friendly Societies Act 1992(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Friendly Societies Act 1992 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1992.
2. The following provisions of the Friendly Societies Act 1992 shall come into force on 8th June 1992-
(a)sections 1 to 4 (establishment of the Friendly Societies Commission);
(b)Schedule 1 (Friendly Societies Commission - supplementary);
(c)sections 116 to 119 (interpretation);
(d)section 121 (orders and regulations);
(e)section 122 (payment of expenses);
(f)section 123 (power to make transitional and consequential provisions);
(g)section 126 (short title and commencement).

This Order brings into force on 8th June 1992 sections 1 to 4 of and Schedule 1 to the Friendly Societies Act 1992 concerning the establishment of the Friendly Societies Commission, together with various sections containing interpretive and supplementary provisions.
