The Glan Conwy-Conwy Morfa Trunk Road (A547) (Previously known as and forming part of The Chester-Bangor Trunk Road (A55)) Detrunking Order 1993

The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:-�

1. The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road as from the date this Order comes into force.

2. In this Order:-�

All measurements of distances are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

(i)"the deposited plan"

means the plan numbered HA 10/2 WO95 marked "The Glan Conwy-Conwy Morfa Trunk Road (A547) (Previously known as and forming part of The Chester-Bangor Trunk Road (A55)) Detrunking Order 1993", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Wales and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff.

(ii)"principal road"

as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State.

(iii)"the trunk road"

means the Glan Conwy-Conwy Morfa Trunk Road (A547).

3. This Order shall come into force on 27th April 1993 and may be cited as the Glan Conwy-Conwy Morfa Trunk Road (A547) (Previously known as and forming part of The Chester-Bangor Trunk Road (A55)) Detrunking Order 1993.

SCHEDULETHE LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is the length which commences from its junction with the "Glan Conwy" roundabout extending in a westerly direction for about 5.60 kilometres to a point about 745 metres west of its junction with the access to the Bryn Morfa Caravan Camp, and that length of trunk road that previously connected to the southern junction of the "Weekly News" flyover roundabout extending in an easterly direction for about 210 metres to its junction with the main section of the A547 trunk road about 210 metres east of the flyover roundabout adjacent to the "Weekly News".
