The Secretary of State for Health in exercise of powers conferred by sub-paragraph (5) of paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Children Act 1989(1) and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, after consultation in accordance with that sub-paragraph with the Catholic Child Welfare Society, the voluntary organisation by which the St Vincent's assisted community home is provided, and with the Humberside County Council, the local authority specified in the St Vincent's Home Instrument of Management Order 1983(2), hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the St Vincent's Home Instrument of Management (Variation) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 5th March 1993.
2. The St Vincent's Home Instrument of Management Order 1983 shall be varied as follows:-
(a)in article 2(1) (interpretation) for the definition of "the home" there shall be substituted ""the home" means the assisted community home situated at 82 Marlborough Avenue, Kingston-upon-Hull and known as St Vincent's Home";
(b)in article 3(1) (purpose and nature of home) for the number "18" there shall be substituted the number "6".

This Order varies the Instrument of Management for the assisted community home known as St Vincent's Home. It redefines what constitutes the home excluding one of the sites at which the home was situated and consequentially reduces the number of children for which the home is suitable from 18 to 6.
