(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order varies the area designated a free zone by the Free Zone (Port of Tilbury) Designation Order 1992 by increasing it from 750 acres to 766.9 acres. The increase of 16.9 acres is effected by moving the south eastern boundary so that it runs parallel to Ferry Road and part of Lower Road, incorporates the remainder of Lower Road and the whole of Station Approach Road and from there runs in a westerly direction along the River Thames high water mark until it reaches the present free zone boundary.
1979 c. 2; section 100A was introduced by section 8 of and Schedule 4 to the Finance Act 1984 (c. 43).
Port of Tilbury London Limited was appointed the responsible authority by article 3 of the Free Zone (Port of Tilbury) Designation Order 1992 (S.I. 1992/1282).
