ENERGY CONSERVATION

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 9(2) and (3) of the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 (Commencement No. 3) (Scotland) Order 1996.
2. The Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 shall come into force in Scotland on 1st December 1996.

This Order brings the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 ("the Act") into force in Scotland on 1st December 1996. The Act is amended by the Energy Conservation Act 1996 (c. 38) which is being brought into force in Scotland on the same date by virtue of S.I. 1996/2796.

The Act has been brought into force in Northern Ireland by 1995 S.R. No. 455 (on 1st January 1996 for sections 3(1) and 4(1) and (2), and on 1st April 1996 for the remainder of the Act) and in England by S.I. 1995/3340 (on 15th January 1996 for sections 3(1) and 4(1) and (2), and on 1st April 1996 for the remainder of the Act). The Act remains to be brought into force in Wales.
