In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 484 and 569(4) of the Education Act 1996(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grants for Education Support and Training) (England) Regulations 1998 (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 30th November 1998.
2. The Education (Grants for Education Support and Training) (England) Regulations 1998(2) shall be amended as follows.
3. In regulation 2(1) the following definition shall be inserted at the appropriate place-�
""National Healthy School Scheme" means the joint pilot programme by the Department for Education and Employment and the Department of Health to improve health education in schools;"
4. In regulation 5(2) the following entries shall be inserted at the end of the table in the left hand and right hand columns respectively-�
"31 | 100 |
32 | 100". |
5. In regulation 11(1) for "or 27" there shall be substituted ", 27 or 31".
6. In the Schedule after paragraph 30 there shall be inserted the following paragraphs-�
"31. Further support for maintained schools by the provision of books and other text-based media, including CD Roms.
32. Support for schools in the National Healthy School Scheme to improve their provision of health education".

These Regulations further amend the Education (Grants for Education Support and Training) (England) Regulations 1998. They add two new purposes for or in connection with which grants are payable. The new purposes relate to the provision of books and CD Roms and support for schools in the National Healthy School Scheme pilot programme.
